De 6 a 14 años, Moisés vivió en Escuintla, la tercera ciudad más grande de Guatemala. Es una de las ciudades líderes en el país para la producción económica. Durante su tiempo allí, el volcán Pacaya entró en erupción en mayo de 2010, unos dos meses después de que la tormenta tropical Agatha azotara a Guatemala. Escuintla es una de las ciudades más grandes en la costa del Pacífico de Guatemala, e históricamente ha sido un sitio de producción y crecimiento económico. From the ages of 6 to fourteen, Moises lived in Escuintla, the third largest city in Guatemala. It is one of the leading cities in the country for economic production. During his time there, the Pacaya Volcano erupted in May of 2010, about two months after Guatemala was hit by Tropical Storm Agatha. Escuintla experienced flooding from both disasters, as well as the general turmoil that comes with them.
Escuintla is one of the largest cities on the Pacific coast of Guatemala, and has historically been a site for economic production and growth. climate is tropical, with weather commonly being fairly warm and rain being common. Crops, such as sugar and coffee, and livestock, such as cattle, are consistently grown and sold there, and mineral baths make it a hotspot for tourism. Escuintla has an airport nearby, and a railroad that passes through part of it, making a city with traffic that makes it appealing to those moving within the country. It is also the site of the active volcanoes Pacaya and Fuego, which has erupted multiple times throughout Guatemala’s history. The most recent eruption occurred in 2018, with Fuego quickly producing smoke and causing those in El Rodeo and Miguel de Lotes, both cities within Escuintla, to lose their belongings and homes.
